5 (who?)
Yay, first journal. Just a quick monologue/brainstorm though, nothing special.

So I'm one of the admins of Piece Out, a Lego Bionicle group. The Lego community has always been pretty great (in my eyes, at least).
Recently, there's just been some incidents/accidents, which made me realize that not everyone received the gift of common sense at birth.
This journal entry is also what I'll be linking to, every time another troll/spammer/other annoys me.

For instance, somehow, some people think the Piece Out group is 'elitist'. Strangely enough, every MOCist is welcome.
Also, for some reason, 'the admins are biased', while the group rules are very clear.
I'm not gonna go TOO far in this, because I've spent too much time on that topic already.

The thing is, I'm a bit older than most MOCists, and it kind of alters the way I view the people I mentioned above.
Most of you probably know the 'First day on the Internet kid'. If not, here's an example:…

I tend to stand 'above' raging and hating, and that just comes with age. Everyone will eventually get to that point in life.
Another interesting trait is the inability to give a **** about what others think of me, which proves to be useful in cases like these.

People mentioning 'war between MOCist groups' and 'flame war' and 'bringing down' this and that are, in my eyes, a bit delusional.
Being 21, I've kind of grown out of the 'adolescent rage' phase, which, to be honest, wasn't really that rage-y to begin with.
Every time something like this happens, the same thoughts go through my head.

You're talking about Lego.

You're mocking a Lego group.

A group dedicated to building and sharing Lego creations.

There is no war.

There is no heroism.

There's you, there's other people, and there's the way you treat them and they treat you. Nothing more than that.
Not to insult anyone, but every time I see an indecent post complaining about certain aspects of Lego-related topics, I sigh and think to myself:

Is there REALLY nothing better to do than to annoy guys and girls who want to share their creations?

What is it that's SO rewarding about bothering others with your indecency and problematic habits?

Are you SERIOUSLY that sad, to just ruin people's fun instead of having fun yourself?

And finally, I pity the ones who do all that. In all seriousness, I just wish they had a hobby they could practice, friends they could play with, anything.
The main reason I don't insult anyone is because, if they repeatedly spam/bother people, they're already making themselves look bad.
There's already too much hate and insults floating around, and I do NOT want to contribute to that.

I don't 'hate' or 'despise' anyone, but to everyone being a nuisance to me, to anyone else, or any group, I just want to say:

I hope you grow out of this phase as quickly as possible, so you can focus on the good parts of life.
The parts not including sitting behind your keyboard all day (unless you work in IT) and bothering other people for your entertainment.
I hope you grow old with someone you love, without even the slightest bit of hate in your head/heart.

Best of luck <3

Well said, It's just LEGO. We shouldn't get too worked up about it

Well Said buddy. Thanks Mike, I think everyone who isn't one of the said spammers/troller folk will need this at some point.

While I can't say I've never been a part of any incident regarding members or even groups in the lego community I do feel I can say with confidence that I don't go out of my way to start conflict and never have. I wish there were more older adult BioMOCers within the community. We're mellower and if not, at least willing to work issues out. I try to talk to people like age doesn't make a difference, it really shouldn't, but I'm starting to see the advantages of socializing with older MOCers.

People just take things too seriously. Actually, I think you could apply that to pretty much everything...

I couldn't agree more, Mike

I guess that some people don't get it that this is just for fun, and not a "matter of life and death"
